Shire Group's structural stone homes are designed and built with four primary principles in mind: Community, Beauty, Durability, and Corporeal Good. We continuously innovate in the residential development and construction space to better achieve those four principle.

The house in the image above was framed up in 2023-2024 in Fall River, Wisconsin. It's walls are layered to achieve impressive insulation R values while retaining a fully structural, fully exposed stone wall inside and out. Much of the wall contains an insulation layer, while through-stones maintain the structural integrity of the wall. The stone alone weighs approximately 550,000 lbs. and is placed upon 16 inch concrete walls that extend down into a full basement.
Each and every stone was chiseled to finish and shape to its place in the wall. The interior face of the stones were sawn to provide a smooth finish.

An alcove for a woodstove was placed in the center of the home to provide warm wood heat. The thermal mass of the stone combined with the inner wall insulation make this house perfect for Wisconsin winters!

The split face stone alcove of the wood stove matches the split face stone of the exterior of the building.
